Terrarium Weekend

May 21, 2017

Last Saturday, Kids Inc. Bacolod hosted a terrarium class for kids to learn and enjoy. This Tita though, decided to join 😂 This is actually the second time they had the class but I wasn’t able to join the first one because of work and was very happy when they announced that they were doing a second one.

Although there are lots of pegs on pinterest and tutorials on youtube, it was great to spend it with a group and learn even just the basics of open and closed terrariums.

We were taught what plants to use for open and closed terrariums, what soil to use, how to mix soil, proportions and watering.

It was indeed a well spent weekend!

Don’t Give in to Self-Pity

November 1, 2016

Sharing what my bestfriend sent to me first thing this morning. Very comforting especially to those who’s feeling down and “under the weather.” This is from one of the devotionals available at the YouVersion Bible App

Don’t Give in to Self-Pity

Self-pity is a destructive and negative emotion. It blinds us to our blessings and the possibilities before us and it steals our hope for both today and tomorrow. People who pity themselves think, “Why should I try to do anything? I’ll just fail.”

Self-pity is actually idolatry because it is self-focus carried to the extreme. When we allow ourselves to fall into self-pity, we are essentially rejecting God’s love and His ability to change things.

I encourage you not to waste one more day of your life in self-pity. When you lose hope and begin to feel sorry for yourself, stop and say: ‘I refuse to feel sorry for myself. I may be in a difficult season of life right now, but I will not stop hoping for better things!’

God has thoughts and plans for your good, to give you hope for your future. If you will hold on to your hope and fight for it when the enemy tries to take it away, you will see amazing things take place in your life.

Prayer Starter: God, I refuse to feel sorry for myself. Even if things are difficult right now, I know that You are bigger than my problems and that You have a good future planned for me. I want Your plans to come to pass in my life, and I trust in You to change my circumstances according to Your will.

Forgiveness: The Path to Real Peace and Joy

March 2, 2015

If you were wondering why I’ve been posting a lot of devotionals about forgiveness lately, not only do I want to share it with you, but I guess I’m also sharing it to my self, sharing it until it sinks and drills into my head because I find it so hard to forgive. So every time I will encounter a forgiveness devotional, I will share it until I finally figure out how to forgive. I know in time I would learn how.

Sharing Day 273 of the reading plan I am currently on from http://www.joycemeyer.org/ Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life – a Daily Devotional

Forgiveness: The Path to Real Peace and Joy

A few years ago someone told me about a person who was doing business with our ministry and making a good deal of money because of their relationship with us. My friend happened to be at the same restaurant, seated in the next booth, and overheard their conversation, which just happened to be about me – and they weren’t saying good things either.

At first I got mad and just wanted to tell him that he was never getting our business again. But in bed that night, the Holy Spirit said to me, “You’re not going to do any of those things.” He said, “No, you’re going to do what you teach. You’re going to go buy him a present, and you’re going to tell him how much you appreciate the services that he’s given you all these years.”

Needless to say, I resisted at first. But eventually, I relented and bought him a gift.

What I remember most about the situation is that as soon as I started taking action to do something good for them, it just got so funny to me. I was laughing out loud in my house, all by myself.

When we can look at people who’ve hurt us with compassion, there’s a party that goes on inside of us.

So who can you forgive and do something nice for today? Practice forgiveness and follow the path it leads to real peace and joy!

Prayer Starter: God, I want to obey Your word, which tells me to be compassionate and good to those who have hurt me. I know that when I do, I will experience peace and joy on the inside.

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. (‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭35‬ NLT)
